District 319 Theater

The projection booth at District 319 was in disarray and could not be managed or used properly. The current setup was a complex ball of unlabeled wires and out of date components. The client wanted a system that could be managed easily and had room for upgrades.

After some initial consultation, District 319 decided to make a change for the better. They enlisted FullTech to carry out a total overhaul of the existing system to allow for a better end user experience in the booth and, ultimately, for the viewing audience.

New cabling, racks and components were installed to allow for a push button system. This system easily allows the operator to switch from any source content be it BluRay, DVD, cable TV, computer or film projector. This content can be routed throughout the building to various screens, displays and audio systems.

Everything in the booth is now labeled and easy to understand with lots of room for future growth. Now it doesn’t require an expert technician to run the booth during live events, which means peace of mind for District 319.

The improvements have allowed District 319 to increase the quantity and caliber of events they can hold in their venue.
 

VFX Department at Western Post Production

Western Post is a dynamic post-production studio that found itself moving into the direction of intensive visual effects growth. The demand for higher quality VFX and faster turn around times was increasing with each project. In order to keep pace, Western Post decided to dramatically increase the size and scope of it's in-house VFX department.

FullTech was involved in the project management and overall planning of the decommission of current sound studios and conversion to the new VFX space. This included managing the sub trades of electrical, carpentry, metalwork, and HVAC. Cooling and power requirements for the massive render farm, as well as network infrastructure and post-production workflow were all planned out to exacting specifications.

Due to the impending arrival of the new VFX staff, a tight deadline was in place and falling behind was not an option.

Over the course of three months the studio was converted and upgraded to include:

• A brand new electric power panel pulled up from the street to allow for increased capacity
• New electric circuits distributed throughout the facility
• A state-of-the-art Liebert HVAC system to cool the render farm. (This included acquiring city permits to allow the cranes required to drop it on the roof.)
• Complete overhaul of the existing Ethernet network to allow for the new workstations
• A render-farm installed in the new environmentally controlled data center.
